Meet Colleen Nelson, MA, LPC, EMDR

 

Colleen Nelson is a therapist, somatic healer, and coach redefining the traditional therapy model by expanding support and healing into the modern world. As The Evolved Therapist, she integrates cutting-edge somatic practices, trauma-informed coaching, and nervous system healing to help individuals break free from outdated patterns and reclaim their full emotional expression.

Colleen’s journey began at the University of Colorado Denver, where she earned her Master’s in Counseling Psychology while training in somatic trauma at the Love & Trauma Center. Committed to gaining a broad foundation in mental health, she immersed herself in community-based work, starting as a supervisor in social detox, then as a counselor at an eating disorder hospital, and later as an adoption counselor. This diverse experience deepened her understanding of trauma, attachment, and the mind-body connection.

Today, Colleen blends her expertise in therapy, somatic healing, and coaching to guide clients beyond symptom management and into deep, embodied transformation. She is also the creator of Let the Rest Burn, a Substack platform that houses her podcast and a growing library of resources dedicated to healing, emotional alchemy, and nervous system regulation.
